question regarding Natwest Student Account?

Hi, just a simple question.. I have a student account with NatWest. And, have been using the overdraft to help me to live as my actual uni loans didnt work out to be much..

they gave me 500 first term, upto 750 last term, and now i'd like to go upto 1000. For the second time i had to just go into the bank and request to get the 2nd part of the overdraft. That took 6 hours and was given the overdraft by 12 that night.

Now i went in the bank for the 3rd time jus like the 2nd to request the next overdrft limit and the man jus said he doesn't know when NTWEST Student Account holders are entitled to there 3rd overdraft limit of (upto1000)

And that was that, no rough date of when its available to me?

So basically id just like to ask the forum for any other student account holders that are also waiting on this overdraft to kick in..

any replys much appreicted thankyou!

The 3rd increase is available in your 3rd term - and yes, you have to ask for it.

    Hi Twister,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I am actually on my 3rd Term at the moment. However the guy in the bank didn't give me the date of when the next overdraft will be available. Is there anyway you could find out the date for me as Ive seen your signature working for Natwest

As far as I am aware when I had a Natwest student account it was the end of june (1st of july)

They can do it over the phone too rather than having to go into a branch

Well if you're in your 3rd term & you can only have the increase in your 3rd term....then you can increase your overdraft! :p

To be on the safe side, can you get a letter from your uni confirming this? If you can make sure it's addressed to your Natwest branch and on letter headed paper. They may take other proof at their discretion.

Something to remember is that even student overdrafts are not guaranteed - they still need to be credit scored like regular lending facilities.
