Court worry

Hi everyone,

I have been paying my cards at a reduced payback rate for some time now as i have been of sick due to me havingna nervous breakdown do to my financial worries.
However, i made an effort to retrain and now on jobseekers and activley looking for work work. But the problem is now that i can now only afford to pay my cards at about £1 until i get a new job. Hopefuly this may only be one month or two.

I am worried they may take me to court becasue of this. I am not a homeowner and have no other asssets. All this worry is making my metal condition worse again. Any advice?

Frankly it boils down to the fact that they can't have what you haven't got. Are you getting advice from a debt charity?
You might find this thread useful:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3247286 - I know the person is being taken to court for a charging order but you may find it helpful to read the descriptions of what the courtroom is like and the general debt process of being taken to court - whether it's for a charging order or a CCJ the court expereience will be fairly similar.
Having said that have a look on National Debtlines website on how to deal with your debts and court etc. It is highly likely at this stage that they are merely trying to threaten you and persuade you into paying. However if you can't pay, you can't pay. Until you actually get any court papers don't panic (even then you shouldn't panic). Frankly though if they threatened you with a middle aged/ elderly, respectable memeber of society and a meeting in a small room it wouldn't have quite the same scare factor though would it :)
    Best of Luck
