Mortgage Adviser Contact Issues...what can I do next??

HI everyone
Myself and partner went to Lloyds (who we bank with) and were offered a mortgage promise by the adviser. He couldn't print us a copy as his printer was broken, but agreed to send a copy to us the next day. Well, a week passed and nothing, so I called to ask again, and again was told he would send it the next day.
The following week, we found a property we were interested in, which was an alternative construction type, so I called to ask about the construction type and AGAIN request a copy of our mortgage promise. At this point, he said he was having to refer our application to an underwriter, didn't really explain why (just that it was outside his lending remit) but made it sound like a formality as the property we were interested in was a lot lower than the limit of our mortgage promise.
Still didn't hear anything so called after a few days, and was told our application had been declined, so I asked for a copy of the underwriters report as this really concerned us. To date (about a month now) I have had nothing, not even a call from the adviser, despite leaving several messages.
I'm getting really frustrated, and am obviously worried about why our application was declined, but just don't know what to do next to get a copy of the report......all advice gratefully received!!

Unfortunately underwriters are under no obligation to give an explanation as to why your application was declined. Every lender will have there own set of criteria.
Maybe worth speaking to a mortgage broker who will be in a position to take a close look at your personal circumstances.0 -
Bank branch 'advisers' are anything but. They are sales staff only. Personally I would have walked away when they said the printer was broken. Pathetic excuse as a branch has more than one printer on a network. More likely the agreement in principle had an issue which they have tried to get resolved by the underwriter in order to not lose the sale and their bonus points.
What are you looking for in terms of loan and property value? Why did you go to Lloyds?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Good post..
I can't understand why people do not contact independent advisors to sort out their mortgage.
I think Children should be taken aside in school and told to do this and not trust banks..
Actually, my GF is a teacher.. I'll suggest this tonight!I work in finance

Basic responsibility for personal finances would seem more appropriate.0
