Hi all, quick question, just came home from work and a tile had blown off my roof. Thankfully it landed where my car would have been!! Does my insurance cover this and if so would it be cheaper to do privately?
Many thanks,
Paul...

None of us have your insurance policy in front of us so we dont know0 -
I think my excess is about 150 so for one tile would it cost me more than that privately? Thanks0

We asked for an estimate from a local jobbing builder to replace our roof tile, unfortunately he said it was too far in from the edge to be reached by a ladder and he would need to order in scaffolding at huge costs. So we got our Insurance Company to do the repair and when their men arrived, they used a ladder and ran up the roof, took all of 30mins!!
It all depends on position of tile and how much your Ins.excess is.0 -
If it is a simple matter of just popping the tile back into place, no other damage - expect to pay £40-£50. Ring a roofer and get a quote.0

The tile had broken and some roofers I rang were quoting all sorts of surveys and scaffolding costs etc.. so I chosse to let the insurance deal with all of that......Thanks folks....0
