Maybe buy a cheap house and do it all up? As a property developer. I strongly advise you to put your money in the bank, your interest will grow so much. Or simply buy your own business.New year, new comper here!

If i had that type of money i would buy a cheap property in cheaper areas. I live in south wales, near the glamorgan uni. I would buy a house there and rent to students as a start up. A terreced house(3 bed,1 bathroom) is about 80k (less in some areas) The idea would be start with cheap houses, then use the profit on that to slowly spread further out(eg. then cardiff, then say bristol, and slowly move to london hopefully with a few more properties under the belt) just my idea
ps auctions are good places for cheaper houses but may need work0 -
Just a thought...
If you are thinking of financial investments, but your knowledge is vague the book below could be a good starting point.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Financial-Times-Guide-Investing-Definitive/dp/027372374X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306528380&sr=8-1
With that sort of money, it is best you have some sort of grounding before you make any big decisions. The book does suggest further readings if you are interested in knowing more on a particular subject.
Best of luck with any decision you make, be it property investment or financial
