DVD Camcorder - best price where?

Hi
Im after a dvd camcorder (already have a mini dv camcorder)but want one that records onto dvd-r or dvd-rw discs and that I can put in my pc & edit the disks before I transfer onto proper dvd disks. Which is the best model & where is it best to buy from???
Should I wait until the sales or buy before xmas?
