TAX code pension and income

I am in reciept of a Police pension which is partly injury related and therefore the bulk of the monthly sum is free of TAX however the small remainder which is taxable is taxed as my first income. I am also employed and receive a monthly wage which is taxed at basic rate and therefore I am paying a great deal of tax on it.

I've been told my TAX allowance is set to my pension as it is classed as my main income, can it be changed in anyway to my MAIN income which is my monthly salary.

Phone your tax office and they will sort it. Be aware that the code changes may hit at different times so you could be short one month (been there !!)

I contacted them again and at last it was explained to me in a why that even I could understand.

Basically my taxable amount of my Pension is just over £7700 so my tax allowance is used on it, I could get it changed over but it wouldn't make any difference or so I'm told.
