Transfer of equity solicitor advice.

Options
I am in the process of removing a name from a joint mortgage and the mortgage company require me to provide a solicitor to carry out the paperwork.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced and skilled solicitor to do the job as I have seen quotes via the mortgage company website of £400 upwards and considering I paid £800 for my solicitor during the buying process this cost is ridiculous.

I can't use the original solicitors as they have gone the whole accident claims route and I know from a friend they are not as efficient anymore.

Thanks for any recommendations.

All we can suggest is you shop around and compare different firms in different places.

Thank you kingstreet for you advice, I have been looking around since I posted the message.

Thanks as well julie11 for the suggestion, did a quick quote on their site and it came up as £564 which is quite high but I would have to call for a proper quote which I will do later.

I havent instructed anyone yet as what I thought was a relatively quick process has taken close to a month and has only reached the stage the underwriters would be happy to proceed after me chasing things up almost daily.

Hopefully now with someting in writing I can proceed and see how much longer it all takes.
