from what I've learned by googling, it seems to be a sort of pic n mix type thing - I like the ones that have different shapes & sizes and height of bowls to put your sweeties in. For a basic bowl, this one from Wilkies seems a really good price. They also have a larger size one too. I'd then see if you can get hold of some oversized cocktail glasses or use vases (ikea) to keep the heights different, and add in trays for the bottom layer.
Do you have a colour scheme in mind yet? You could mix and match basic colourless pieces with one or two nicer coloured items

I'd keep an eye out at car boot sales and charity shops for tall glass vases and bowls that would be suitable. Also check on eBay if anyone has done a candy buffet at their wedding and are selling all of the bowls and scoops etc as a joblot. Apparently searching eBay for ice scoops comes out a lot cheaper than searching for candy buffet scoop.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
