Help :) Boundary Dispute

God where do I start, I have just found out I live next door to the biggest Nut case ever, Let me start from the beginning.

"Once upon a time"

I went away over Xmas for about 3 weeks, when I came back In Mid Jan 2011, I started having someone banging my door, I just thought it was local kids playing Knock & run, How wrong was I, this went on for 6 weeks I did record it in a diary, times & dates, anyway on the 23rd Feb I had been out on the road all day at least 12 hours on Appointments so as you can imagine I was tired, wanted my nice Tea, My girlfriend had made it was about 8pm.

Anyway I am sat having my tea watching a film when the front door got banged, I flew up and saw my next door neighbor, his door is right next to mine & he could just sort of lean out of his door and bang mine, I got up went and knocked his door and he would not open so I left it deciding its getting late & leave it until the next day.
So I sit back and have my tea the next thing I know stones are bouncing off my back windows 3 to 4 at least and 10 seconds later my front door is being banged again I basically exploded and went straight out side banged his door and he opened it.
I was met with words of, my telly does not work, my telly does not work, it worked fine when you were away over Xmas, I said what has that got to do with me and then I was met with you are on the dole, and you and your girlfriend are drug addicts, you do drugs, you do drugs your bag heads, also we are going to tell the dole on you and call the police.

Yes I find this still hard to believe but its true, I started to get quite loud back and basically said you are F ing Nuts you loon and next thing he smashed me in the face, I did fly back at him but did not hit him but picked him off the ground and chucked him into his house.

Before I could do anything stupid my girlfriend got hold of me and I stopped me ,we went inside & called the police.

Just to point out I am not a drug addict or on the dole, what I am is a private person who says hello and keeps myself to myself, I do not live on a council estate this is a nice private estate.

The police came, he was arrested and locked up for 12 hours that night & I got to bed at 2am after I gave statements, at 2am the mad wife started shouting F ing this F ing that at me over the fence, I was tired and did shout shut up you mad hag perhaps I should not have done this but at 2am I was really tired.

He was let out the following day and things went quiet for a few weeks, court case looming he did get his solicitor to get the charge dropped down to common assault, court was supposed to be the 26th April this was changed last minute by the court until 31st May, anyway he starts again he is on bail with conditions he keeps call me and my girlfriend drug takers you on are on the dole la la la.

I have recorded this but not called the police as I just don't have time in the real world.

Anyway Yesterday Sunday I had 3 nice 6 foot fence panels arrive so I can fence off a bit of the garden as the current fence is only 4 foot with 1 foot gravel boards, god he went off screaming and shouting you druggies dirty bag heads dole dossier that’s are fence well I had 3 of my head banger mates around all body builders and they just ripped the fence out in 5 mins and put it in, and told him to go away his wife did hit my one friend with a broom handle he just took it off her and laughed.

They called the police and the police sided with them saying I must take the fence down I said no and have not and I have now concreted it all down its not moving.

My problem is I do not know who owns what boundaries I have been to the deeds & land register and its just not clear but everyone in my road is responsible for the right side so the fence I have replaced is mine.

This loon says he has a letter from the council its a private estate and that’s his fence so great I own no fences ???.

I have replaced an old fence with nice new one and now do not have to see this nut case because I have no other words to say I am not moving as I have spent 1000s on doing my garage out into a Spa.

Any advice from my ship mates be great help, as I have a good legal head but property conveyancing is not my area and I have never in my life upset anyone I am as quite as a church mouse.

He has upset other people in my street as well and yesterday he was abusing me & my girl in front of more neighbours and 3 of my friends.

I think I can go for slander and defamation of character as I work for 3 large law firms but I do not want to bring them into this.

Final laugh :rofl he got the drug dealer and druggies from the fact that my girl works as a drugs councilor at the local needle exchange.

I have tried to talk to him but I might as well go and chat to one of the sheep up the road in the fields.

The reason his TV reception is rubbish is they have built a super hospital thats god knows high no one gets a good Tv sig we all on dishs.

Better get your deeds out and check who owned the fence. With a nutter like that I might have erred on the side of caution and just popped the new fence in behind the old fence.

What Hintza said. Check your deeds. If it isn't yours then putting it next to their fence would have done the job for you.

The police can't get involved with the fence, I don't know why they tried?!

Pickled my head I don't normaly put stuff on here like this I am quite topical with news and stuff but this even I have to pinch myself to see if its real & yes it is.

Might have to buy a crystal ball

Deeds should have a 'T' attached to the boundary line you are responsible for. Im not sure ripping fences out at this point was a good idea to be honest, its only likely to get his back up and inflame the situation.

Hopefully if you knwo what you are looking for, you will find the 'T's on your side, if not, it means you've taken his fences out, which is not going to make you look like the good guy in this!

He sounds like a nightmare, have you lived there a while? Was he there when you moved in, or has he moved in more recently? Is this 'door knocking' business the first issue you have had with him? he sounds quite irrational, I would tread very carefully with him, and dont let him press your buttons, if you stay in control, it will show him up for the oddball he obviously appears to be!
