That Technosonic 32" TV from Woolworths..."Component problem!"

Options
Just got a call from Woolies about this TV which I bought about a month ago.

I had to quote the serial number, apparently there is "a risk of component failure resulting in smoke, but NO risk of fire!"....

Fortunately mine was OK...

Anyone else had this call?

I got a call earlier. They ask you to look on the back of the TV where it says where it was made and what that number by the barcode is.

Mine was made in China and is one of the affected ones.

Engineer is to ring me on Monday or Tuesday to arrange when he/she can come round to replace the dodgy part (I suspect it's the power supply as other people on AVForums have reported this).

The guy on the phone today assured me this would happen before Christmas and that I'd get a gift voucher for £10.

At least they're taking action to sort this out rather than wait for complaints and possible legal action.

PS lots of these Technosonic sets are being supplied with a plug that has the wrong fuse too. It's 13A but should be 5A as stated in the manual. I'll be asking the engineer to stick one of those 5A bad boys in there too.
