Anyone know where I can get sewing/dress making classes. I live in Carrick but don't mind travelling to Belfast

Belfast met do courses in dressmaking in Castlereagh and city centre - see here for their part time prospectus. I have no idea how good they are though or at what level but would love to hear if anyone has been to them.0

hi, i did the dressmaking course in what used to be castlereagh college (now belfast met). the course itself was good, the tutor very attentive. well TBH she had time to be as there were about 15 in the class and 13 of them were older ladies who really needed no tutoring at all. they just came for the company and tea and biscuits. it was really just myself and one other lady who needed help at all. the course ran for 12 weeks and was £105. the class was a couple of hours on a monday and they had sewing machines there, enough to go around but i dont think they would have a problem with you bringing your own and learning on it. i know all these details will have changed as it was 5 years ago i did it but i thought it might give you an idea."it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.

I am just finishing a dressmaking class in Belfast Met. Highly recommended but would advise that you enroll as soon as the new p/t prospectus comes out - the classes fill up very quickly, especially the evening classes. They are 15 weeks for £900

Thanks everyone, will keep an eye on the new prospectus
