I have an outstanding loan and about to apply for a mortgage. will the advisor ask what the loan was for?

Hi ... I'm no expert but I would say you will be asked about all loans and financial commitments you have. That's because all of these will be taken into account when considering you for a mortgage, as a lender will check your credit record during your mortgage application.
