you've been through such a lot in such a short time, I'm really thinking of you right now & hope that the support you will get from people will hold you tight through this difficult time. Sounds like your husband is being really supportive so that's a huge support.

Pollycat has given some good advice.

There's not much I can say, please contact Samaritan's if your thoughts overwhelm you. Post on here, this forum got me through a really difficult time in my life last year. I was having suicidal thoughts too, it was really frightening to have those thoughts on a daily basis. I had counselling for 2 years and I realised that I wasn't going to commit suicide for the sake of my children, I couldn't leave them to deal with the aftermath. I then realised there was no point in thinking that, and I stopped and its been about 4/5 months since the thought has come into my head.

Thank you both I used my money steps a site to help me make some sense of our incomings and outgoings also asked the debt advisory charity to call me ASAP he has some money (my other half ) that we can use to at least clear the mortgage this month we have applied for another bank account but are worried we won't get it so any advice there would be good we then went to my parents house to see what we can sell to raise money and when we have sold the house my quarter should get us back on our feet it's just surviving till then. The biggest thing is to stop the phone calls and letters as that's adding to the stress. I have been told to claim DLA for my depression but I am ashamed to do that :(

There is no shame in claiming benefits - they are there to keep you on your feet while you are not well. Is there someone who can help you fill in the form - someone at CAB, or an advice centre? I am not sure what Money Steps is but please make sure you do not pay for it.

The National Debtline website has some great advice and a guide that tells you what to do, like writing letters to tell people you are in difficulty so that some of the calls stop. In the short term could you unplug the phone and then change your number? You should be able to apply for a basic bank account but you need to tell the bank that this is what you want (the co-op comes recommended and you apply by phone). But it depends on which bank your debts are with as to which company would be best for you.

Keep going, you are doing great
  • well done for being strong Bizibruja. Sounds like in a little while things will start to get better financially. Yes definately apply for the DLA it'll give you abit of breathing space to get yourself back on your feet. I'm thinking of you & sending you a cyber hug x
