Hi thanks for posting this deal, I am looking to get a laptop and this deal looks exactly what I am after, having said that I don't think I would put the trust in the arms of DHL, my driver is great but we have had a few minor problems on the way I just don't htink I could trust them to deliver... especially as they feel that a bin cupboard or recyling bin is an acceptable delivery spot

My budget was £400 but willing to go to more due to graphics card and the bluray player. Do you think it would be worth trying to order this instore or is this an online only deal, it's just for some stupid reason they don't deliver to my local store :(

    Hi bunny

the voucher code is online but if you live near a Click and Collect store then I would get it delivered to the local store. If you have any questions I should have it tomorrow and can answer what I can :)

I think if you want/could do with a blueray players its a really good deal. I was wanting to buy a seperate player but will stick with just this.

It is Online only and click and collect is currently only available in stores over a certain size where they have the space without compromising other sales.

See if there is a store close by (I collected mine yesterday and have spent part of night and most of day setting it up so not really tested it yet.) but not too far away better than slowwwww delivery.

The only minor niggle is that it is a 64 not a 32 bit OS but the main problem with this really is that it forces you away from IE as the default browser and Google Chrome is the default browser (would not be my choice but others like it) as MS have decided not to allow the 64bit version of IE to be a default browser.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

Hi Marvin, how are you finding it?

I set up my recovery media which took about 2 hours - but essential.
For anyone not yet got theres, get 3 DVDs and you need to create your own back up disks after you set up the laptop and add the updates. Do it now and keep them safe.

Other than that, I really like it. I love the numpad on the keyboard and rather than being wierd, I like the off center touchpad as I can type a fair bit with right hand whilst leaving left hand on touchpad.

What can I say, its smart, professional and sooooo quiet. Burned the 3 recovery DVDs and could not here it over the fan on my desktop ...which is not very quiet.

Excellent, will install a game next to test graphics

I set up my disks last in the hope if I have to restore it will restore it without me having to reload everything which has taken ages but then I also have a bit more knowledge than some being an IT person by employment so was a little more confident on not destroying the system. I like one of their reasons for the disks just in case you accidentally format the hard drive!

I did get one blue screen of deatha nd thought oh sh.... but know what caused it and sorted it phew.

It is OK although I thought it was a HD screen (to go with the Blu-Ray) but can't see any proof it is.

It is faster than my old creeking HP DV4000 which was very old and very full.

I wish they would get a transfer method built in that does the same as PCMover so that you can transfer everything all in one go. without faffing around.

Have it at work with me it is plugged into my external speakers playing PIL

Oh and I work for Sainsburys in a depot so it would have come through here on Monday to get to store unfortunately I cannot select deliver to depot!

Blus screen??? lol thats soon, did you have some hardware connected?

I am in IT myself but I think where this preinstalled Windows apps are involved better safe than sorry. Will probaboly do two copies of the restore disks as I am always losing things like that.

The screen resolution is the only weakness ... but works fine for an old game (Total War° and plays Iplayer excellently. O ordered my hdmi cable for the tele already so looking forward to that

    cheers

No it was an old copy of Zone Alarm that has problems running on W7 64. undid it and all was fine.

Disks are now burnt and stored in a tripple box.
