Hi all
Hoping I have not made a horrendous mistake. Just bought a Sony Vaio for £480 from sainsburys.
Actually, you also get 998 Nectare points; and tried Top Cash Back, although not sure that will work as I used a discount code.
The discount code is here: CLICK HERE

Sony Vaio VPCEE3Z0E/BQ
AMD Phenom II Triple-Core Processor P840
500Gb Memory (HDD)
6Gb DDR3 SDRAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145 Graphics (not integrated so can deal with graphics heavy programes)
1366 x 768 pixel 15' screen
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
5 hour battery life
Integreated Speakers and Webcam
With the 6Gb RAM and the blueray player I would guess this is built towards graphic hungry users although the chips (CPU and Grpahics) are not going to satisfy the most avid of gamer. However, suspect that it will cope with mapping and graphics produucts pretty well.
From what i can tell, its been replaced but was always a good mid ranged laptop, and with Blue Ray to boot. The sainsury website says it has £200 off already although looking at comparison sites it is really only £100 less than competitors. Click HERE
Reviews seem pretty good, although a couple of negative reviews as always ... Click Here

Not sre this is the best deal ever, but with plenty of storage, decent chips and a blue ray player 5which I do not have° I am hoping it will be an ideal replacement for my dying Inspiron 640m
Of course, it has WIFI and as a bonus, blue tooth....
Chip speed can be rated here ... Benchmark - do not forget to compare with other laptop chips and not desktop ones, as they will always be beaten like for like with desktop.
Dell oulet, so good discount, has a Studio XPS 16 laptop for £670 and it is carrying only
4GB RAM, ntel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600 , 500 Gb hard drive - granted it is a 16 not 15, but it does not carry a Blueray player though.
Overall, the Sony is more powerful and has a Blueray player, where this already discounted Dell has an excellent screen .. still there is £190 difference between the two and whilst I think both are equally good buys, I think one is more equal than the other.

Personally reckon the Sony is a good buy ... but make your mind up and buy if you like. Will report back when i receive it.
NB it is a while stocks last promotion.

There is a £20 code from topcashback below
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/sainsburys/discountcodes
Plus over 3% cashback and obviously nectar points as you pointed out0 -
Thanks
this is the same code I saw on my discounts, but this site seems to block competitor links at times... :-s.
This means if Cashback is received, it would be £470 + 1000 Nectar points.
Anyway, replaced discount code with that suggested, thanks
Even better .. I hope
Ohhhhh just saw the name .... shouldnt you be under a load of cement???............... Have you ever wondered what

Just an update on cashback>
Tracked on top cash back no problem.
21/05/11 Sainsbury's £479.99 £0.09 £9.69 Pending [due] 30/06/11 (0)
So overall cost is £470.30 PLUS 1,000 Nectar Points (worth between £5 and £10) and about £3.50 in Clubcard deals as bought with Tesco Credit Card.
Total cost if you can use double nectar and full clubcard points. = £457.80
Not bad is its on sale anywhere from £585-£680 elsewhere
If you prefer to pay a little less upfront, 2 refurb models in A1 and A2 grade at laptops direct
Not sure if you have to buy your warranty from these though???............... Have you ever wondered what

Very nice specs for the price... *drools*
My current Vaio has been the most durable laptop I've ever had...and it gets a lot of heavy use and abuse! Wouldn't hesitate to buy another when this one eventually dies.GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Thanks..; I must say my old Inspiron 640m has also survived some abuse, but if I remember rightly the 640m was a premium chassis and I got a basic but customised model... in the days when you couod do that. I notice Sonly allow that which is nice, including a little laser etching
Never had a full keyboard before on lappy, which I am looking forward to getting as I do use it on my desktop keyboard alot.
Anuone know how easy it is to change keyboards on vaio keyboards? I read somewhere they are kept sperate to the laptop via a tray to stop debris failling in ...
thinking of getting an AZERTY keyboard for it.................. Have you ever wondered what

Just bought one will do for a couple of years got to dismantle desktop as about to rip house apart for big renovations and old lappy gave up the ghost a couple of months back.
Staff discount £50 voucher £20 nectar points (lower number due to staff discount but will swap £50 or a few pennies in nectar points.) and cashback from topcashback can't be bad for around £425 collecting from Marshall Lake tomorrow.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I actually bought this at Christmas under the Sony VAT back promotion - I think it's a great laptop!0

well 7:20 and sainsburys said the driver stated "could not find access tot he buidling". WHY IS IT ALWAYS HDNL that can not deliver to flats? Are these the worse couriers in the country? I suspect so. I have had deliveries from Sainsburys store, Tesco store, DHL, Royal Mail, Parcel Force, City Link, all without major problems. Give it HDNL I usually get it 3 days late if lucky.
Why would Sainsburys risk their reputation using such a bunch of cowboys? and before anyone says, I know its not the drivers fault as the business model pays them peanuts and they have not the time to really try to ensure delivery.
not a happy bunny............... Have you ever wondered what
