Can anyone tell me how to find out whether the HD Freesat+ box I have is PAL, CVPAL, composite, S Video or RGB? I've read the manual but it's not mentioned
I want to set up a wireless video sender (Digisender plug n go DX1000) but have read this:
"The output from the Sky box, FTA box, DVD player or whatever other source you are transmitting from must be set to CVPAL, PAL or composite. It will not work with other types such a S Video or RGB"
I have a Bush HD Freesat+ B10FSRH25 (like Sky+ but with Freesat) and an HD ready TV.
The HD Freesat+ box is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. I did have another make of video sender plugged into the VCR scart on the Freesat box and this worked perfectly sending the signal to my bedroom TV but I tried to move things around on the shelves and think I must have broken the video sender somehow as it's now not working.
Thanks in advance for any input

As it won't work with RGB (the best option out of all the choices you have), you'll have to settle for PAL output on the SCART.
Note that you will lose all HD capability at this point.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
Thanks, I know HD won't transmit to the upstairs TV but will I still be able to watch HD downstairs?
I really don't understand the different output types. How do I know if I can get PAL? Does plugging the video sender to the VCR scart of the Freesat+ box mean it's automatically 'PAL'?0 -

So is there anyway to find out what 'output' it will be? I haven't bought the digisender yet as didn't want to waste my money if it's not compatible but don't know how to find out what output my Freesat box sends!0

A SCART socket can technically provide any or all of the RGB, composite and s-video signal types.
SCART is more of a standard of socket/plug style than signal type. Although certain signals, if present, must be found on certain pins in the SCART socket.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCART
Could you look at the old video sender, and its user manual to discover which signal type it used as its input?
I would be 99% sure that the Bush SCART socket supplies a composite video signal (as well as separate RGB component video, and perhaps S-Video, too.)
The video-sender is a low-cost consumer item and it is a much simpler process of combining composite video with audio and then modulating that signal onto a radio frequency carrier, than it is to perform the alternative of combining RGB components, with audio, and then modulating that.0 -

Thanks asbokid, I've looked in the manual of the old one and the only thing I can find is that it says:
'Video standards supported - PAL / NTSC / SECAM'
Is that what I was meant to be looking for? Are they 'outputs'?0
