Who owns my debts
Comments
-
Yeh, seems like they could own the other 2.
Even if they don't own the other one, as they are the ones chasing payment, they are responsible for the cca request. It still may be worth cca'ing the oc yourself though.
If any of the cca's are unenforceable, or are not supplied you have far more ammo for a small settlement offer.
Hiya
I have just found out that Westcot do own 2 of the accounts - I haven't had it in writing as yet - a lady has just rung me regarding a f&f on the smallest account (I wouldn't do anything over the phone even if I could afford it) but I through I may was well ask if they own the debt.
Call me paranoid but don't you think it is strange that the only time they have contacted me was AFTER I asked for the CCA??
They also told me that the other account they manage has been returned to the O/C?!!
Why do you think this has happpened? I am worried now

I have just received conformation from Westcot that they own my First direct and Littlewoods debts, I am confused as the Littlewoods paper works front sheet is info for the First direct debt and the letter about the ownership of the Littlewoods debt is meant to be a copy of a letter I have received at the time of change of ownership (I don't remember getting this letter) but the date at the start of the letter is Feb 2009 but in the letter it states that I need to contact them by Sept 2007 to make arrangements to pay!0

Hi
I just wanted to say that there's no need whatsoever to pay for a DMP. You can either do it yourself, which is what I did, or use a charity such as the CCCS which will help you for free. Please don't give the company you are using any more money. If you want to do it yourself, there's plenty of help on here, I'll help you and I'm sure there are loads of others who will too, or contact CCCS or the CAB.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -

The DMC are being difficult at the moment, plus one of the Debt agency's aren't replying to any of my letters - which is making it difficult to be sure they will deal with me directly
I want to be in a position were i have enough money to pay my creditors twice in one month just in case the DMC don't pay them (if you know what I mean)0 -

Even more reason to leave them...
Most state you have to give one month's notice to leave them so the best thing you could do it do that now. If you do it just before the next payment date then you can cancel direct debit after that's gone through, write to your current creditors saying you want to sent up a direct debit with them yourself but that if they don't send you the DD mandate before the next due date, you will call them to make the payment by debit card.
Or even just phone them with your bank details, confirming the payment amount (plus the bit extra for the £32.50 you are paying) and date due...0 -
Do a self managed dmp - you have 100% control then.
Having an account returned to the oc is a good sign - prob means they don't have the correct compliant paperwork.......;)
The discrepancy regarding dates on the noa's probably means no proper noa's were issued in the first place. All good stuff for you.
Sorry for the late reply, but gave myself a break from mse for a bit and was only checking in now and then for the past week or so...Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

thank you for getting back to me
Hope everything is ok with you!
I have just rung Westcot and they just said that it was a written error, (basically why am i moaning!)
Silly question but how do I work out how much of the £32.50 I give to each creditor?
thanks in advance0 -

I'm cool ta!!
Do it by pro-rata......
Lender 1 £1000
Lender 2 £800
Lender 3 £250
Total £2050
Amount available to pay £30
Lender 1 = 1000x30 divided by 2050 =£14.63
2 = 800x30 divided by 2050 = £11.71
3 = 250x30 divided by 2050 = £3.66
Total £30
Is that what you meant??Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0
