Jeans for a (female) athletic figure ?

Options
Hello, I a getting a bit jelous of all these people finding their perfect jeans because I don't think a pair exists for me! So I thought I'd pick your expert brains and see if anyone has any idea....

I have whats been described as an "athletic figure". I am not an Olympian but do have a gym membership which I use alot, after many running related injuries can not run (advised by doctor and also a specialist :() so instead do alot of spinning, cross training...etc etc which in turn has created though very well defined but very chunky legs. They have always been chunky even as a child but now they are even more so.

Fact is, I cannot find a pair of jeans that fit well. I want tighter fitting jeans! Skinnies would be great, straight leg would be even better, would rather tight not lose jeans, been there done that bored already!

So far everyone from Topshop to Gap, TK Maxx (read: Diesel, Superfine and everything inbetween!) do not fit! The reason: my thighs are too chunky: especially just above the knee, my calves are just a joke, way too large for jeans. As a result I normally live in leggings, a wardrobe staple and getting really boring now

On the rare occasion I have found jeans with enough stretch to fit my thighs, they do not fit my waist and gaping at the back to the effect of two fist sizes in most cases :(

Anyone else have any ideas where to look?

I have the same problem with my calves, they're just fat while the rest of me isn't lol. I buy all my jeans from Next, no other brand fits me. Still can't find skinny or straight leg jeans that will fit over my chuffing great calves though :( lol

Thanks- another friend also suggested I try the new Levis Curvy jeans so may also try that: I used to work in River Island, sadly none of their jeans would fit me :( Many wouldn't pull up on the thigh and I even tore a pair trying to get them on once!! (Luckily I had a very forgiving boss as £50 on minimum wage doesn't stretch far even after discount!).

Have not seen Red Herring jeans before: are they the jeans sold in Debenhams? Do you know how they do for stretch? (eg Topshop stretch = rubbish: you can see people with saggy bum syndrome everywhere in these lol! Earnest Sewn tend to have a stretch which lasts nearly 2 days, Gap comes close but lasts a 24 hours I'd say.)

Ahh - a problem I have had since I was about 20 and still haven't found the perfect ones and tbh I get so p'eed of trying on jeans that don't fit I rarely bother these days, the last time I tried to get a pair of skinny's I couldn't find any which would go halfway past my thighs.

The last time I got some perfect ones were from 'Freespirit' and where their own brand - the chain has since been bought out by blacks retail and although some Quicksilver ones are nice they tend not to have stretch in. Have you tried any of the 'surfy' type brand like Quicksilver, O'niell or even Fat Face?

Yes I think they are from Debenhams, but I bought mine in a charity shop. :o They fit me well, both the bum and knees don't go saggy after wearing them. I am slim but have muscley thighs and calves and couldn't get any nice skinny jeans and these are the best I've found.
I also have a pair from Next, (again CS ones) that are boot leg and stretchy. I really like these too for a change. I think it's just my luck as I've other brand which I can't get on over my thighs/ calves.

Surely you just need to go up a couple of sizes if you can't get them past your thighs?

actually its the calves that make more of a difference then the thighs, its not so much a matter of not being able to get them up, its more they go up-if I can get them up and the waist is so baggy its almost untrue: I can get about 2 fisted hands one ontop of the other at the back, the waist just looks silly! Thats what happens if I go up a couple of sizes. Yes I could wear a belt (and make the jeans puffy at the waist instead) but I don't really like that look and would rather find and pay for jeans that fit me, hence the question. ;)

The surfer type jeans (what I would call 'boyfriend jeans') are what I had been previously living in, Replay, River Island, and the best of TK Maxx but haven't worn them in years, they just don't work for me style wise anymore, am looking for straight leg or even (if its possible) skinny leg but no longer the baggy fit. But thanks for the suggestion :)
