decorating a garden...

Helllo, I'm looking for some simple, effective & preferably cheap ways to trim up my garden a bit for a pre-prom party in June.
Basically, I don't want to go OTT, as they will only be here for drinks & photos for about an hour before they go off, but want it to look nice for their pictures.
It will be daylight, so lanterns, candles and fairy lights are out.
I don't really want to do shabby chic bunting, although that would be cheap & easy, really want something a bit smarter.
I will have lots of pots of flowers, and a few tables with nice cloths but was wondering about garlands or ribbons or something?
There's a big, very plain brick wall, as well as lawn & patio. And a bench.
Any ideas?

Do you have space for a gazebo, you could borrow one from a friend. Then decorate it with paper butterflys etc.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Paper streamers always look nice. I bought some recently off ebay for about 90p and there was hundreds of colours to choose from.0

what about buying some organza from your local market and draping around your fence - a bit like swags - we did this for a pre-wedding gathering before family went off to ceremony....shouldn't be too expensive from the market and you can colour coordinate however you choose...0
