Shared ownership - Right or wrong

It felt like a good idea at the time but as time goes by, almost as wasteful as renting. Feeding the goverment funded social providers, lining their pockets, promoting the big society - and for what? Low levels of service, rent overcharges, premiums on high rate mortgages and all because Brown, Cameron and the like tell us to pay our way out of the red, make more, do more. I'm at my wits end. Ok, yes it was a starting point and I'm on the property ladder but my question is - Where from here?
To sell my feeble share and purchase wholey or make any kind of current substantial repayment here (before im using a zimmer) i'd need nothing short of a miracle.
Any ideas would be great and more than i've found available..anywhere!
Not usually this pessimistic but confused.com!
