Overdraft Charge

We have just got back from holiday to find an overdraft charge on the door step.
We went over by about £3 for less than a day, moved funds as soon as we realised. The annoying thing is we had plenty of cash in other accounts, and thought we had enough to cover bills in there.
Will this go against us when applying for a mortgage?
We have a clean record with no missed payments or anything for years, and was going to apply for a AIP this weekend.

Bump, any mortgage advisers offer any advice?0

Any level of adverse credit will go against applicants. The level of its impact differs from lender to lender.
Best thing to do is obtain a copy of your credit report from both Experian and Equifax. Get the £2 statutory ones online, not the free trial which can be difficult to get out of.
The lender may not have reported the error if it was a day only.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Avoid HSBC as I have just been refused a mortgage for this very reason, even though i met all other criteria and have perfect credit score.0

Complain like mad to the bank/lender you went overdrawn with explain that you are a good customer and this was an oversight on your part !
ask for a refund of any charges0 -
Just spoke to the bank, they can't refund the charge but have assured me that it won't go on our record and only gets used intenaly so shouldn't blot our credit history.0
