Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. As a result, we have taken the decision to keep this board permanently closed, but it remains viewable for users who may find some useful information in it. Thank you for your understanding.
We'd like to remind Forumites to please avoid political debate on the Forum. This is to keep it a safe and useful space for MoneySaving discussions. Threads that are - or become - political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules. Thank you for your understanding.

Apparently (as if no one has noticed) the MPC has been looking the other way for some time now, and tacitly allowed inflation up - rather than the kcoc-up theory explaining why 'temporary' doesn't mean what it used to...

I think the comments by Michael Saunders are probably more accurate than those of Beanie.
The Bank has clearly made errors in it's forecasting, and no doubt would have done certain things differently with hindsight.
What is more worrying is that the Bank also appears to be wrong in some of it's other forecasts on the Economy.
Once a Central Bank gets behind the curve, it becomes increasingly difficult to catch-up, and by doing so they might do more harm than good.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Very good impression, it was tedious, boring and pointless, just like the real thing! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Stick around Joe . .I'm currently working on a few more. My showstopper will be a generic impression based on a typical Bankruptcy forum poster.
But I'll keep that in reserve for now0
