The Banker is a person who produces nothing of value, slowly, and then more rapidly, gains a death grip over the land, buildings and labor of future generations. The borrowers have become the servants of the lenders and have placed themselves on the economic treadmill of debt. Sir Josiah Stamp, President of the Bank of England in the 1920s, then the second richest man in Britain said, "Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create deposits, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it all back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine disappear, and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create deposits."

    It isn't.

Rent is already more expensive than mortgage interest payments at 5% in 80% of the UK.... Let alone the current mortgage average of 3% or so.

And rents are now at a new record high and rising rapidly, at twice the rate of wage inflation.

Within just a few short years, the rent increases have wiped out the ability to save anything at all.

You say that as though it is a good thing, something to be proud and happy about. Perhaps it jusifies your own descent into endebtedness?

If we had similar tenant rights as Germany then perhaps renting wouldn't wipe out people's ability save?

You do know your Josiah Stamp quote is a fake, don't you?

But boycott debt if you like. Would you also please stop accepting any products or services that have been financed by debt? Thanks. I probably won't. My choice.

It's pretty sad and pathetic that this hypocrite feels the need to try and defend his hypocrisy.

A position based on lies and delusion is an indefensible position.

the homeowner is paying an extra 200,000 pounds for what?
For renting someone else's money. That should be obvious.
You pay to have the use of someone else's stuff, just like renting a house.

The accusation of wickedness based on falseness shall be punished by the almighty. The accuser is the lowest on the earth and will be smited.

Where is the hypocrisy of which you speak?

Some of us are very happy in the houses we own and enjoy the lives we lead just as they are. We don't force anyone else to buy houses. We're happy with our lives. You're happy with yours. What exactly is the problem?

You can stand outside your local Halifax on a Saturday morning and try and talk people going in out of taking out mortgages if you want. Personally, I think everyone's free to choose what they want to do in life. If someone buys a house purely because society told them to, that's their own fault.

Anyway, don't you think the world is going to end tomorrow?
