Reduced rate on offer since application made

Options
I've just received my 2 yr fix mortgage offer on my remortgage from Woolwich at 3.35% but I now see that they are offering the same 70% LTV mortgage at a rate of 3.18%. I'm not due to complete the remortgage until the beginning of July.

How would I go about getting the lower rate? Would I have to pay fees. It's only £20 a month on payments but it's still money!

I figured it might not be worth it. I'm in the MSE zone at the moment but maybe I'm taking it to extremes!

    Thanks for your comment.

I haven't checked, but they'll probably charge you the arrangement fee for the original product, plus the one you want to change to, negating any saving you might make.

We were lucky and got ours changed a few days before the offer came out, no charge whatsoever and a very much bigger difference in rates too!

I doubt they will change it for free, but definitely worth asking - can't see how they could charge you an application fee again because if you pulled out you'd get that back minus the small pull-out fee.

Turns out that the lower deal didn't include the free valuation I got so it's only just not worth it as they said they would charge me £150 as a product withdrawal fee and then the valuation fee which works out about the same as the deal I have.

    Was worth a try though!
