I want to buy my parents a newspaper subscription

My parents are housebound and get a bit out of touch with life, so I thought that I would buy them a newspaper subscription.

I remember once receiving an offer for The Times for £1.50 a week, if you paid in advance, but I haven't seen anything since or anything for the Express or Mail.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Minerva

Sorry, can't find anything about newspaper subscriptions (though my son gets the Times on subs, and has for 3 or 4 years). There are loads of mags you can get subs for though!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Thanks for looking! Maybe it will have to be a mag instead....

Why not go to the local paper shop and pay up front for the paper of their choice to be delivered daily or whenever. I know our local delivers our sunday paper and we pay every 3 months.
    just an idea
  • I have subscribed to The Times for a couple of years - I pay direct debit, and receive vouchers which you either use daily in exchange for your paper, or you can arrange a delivery service with a local newsagent, but this costs extra. The cost of the subscription basically means I get the Monday to Friday papers for nothing, as it it is pretty heavily discounted. I don't know if this offer is still available, but the freephone number for subscription enquiries is 0800 854547. Hope this helps.
