Hi everyone
Could anyone help me please.
My DS laptop won't connect to wireless. It used to but God alone knows what's happened.
When I pressed on the diagnostics button it said something about no IP address. Then I thought I would restore the laptop to an earlier date to see if my son did something to it in between times. That was no use either and now when I press the diagnostics button it says it can't tell what's wrong.
The laptop is an Acer and it's only Christmas old.
Can anyone help,. Please bear in mind am a complete half wit with technology so you might tear your hair out trying. I dread the thought of taking it to somewhere to be fixed.
Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from someone.

Is it trying to connect to the right network? Also connect to the router by cable, log into it and try changing the wireless network channel - i find 3,6,8 and 13 tend to be seldom used - it could be that someone nearby is on the same channel and interfering enough to make connection to yours impossible. I had one client who couldn't even connect to the router in the same 13ft wide room because his entire village was on channel 11!!!!0

Thanks for your response. My caveat is above, sorry.
I have a Netgear router and it's connected to this desktop computer I'm using. My son's got a laptop and it used to connect to this router but it doesn't any more.
I decided to fish out the old laptop to see if the problem was with the new one. It's not working either. Is it my router do you think?
I don't have cables to connect to the laptop that I know of.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -

It worked. Thank you SO much. It worked :T
I went to the plug to turn it off and I remembered we had a couple of short power cuts last week. That's just about the same time the laptop's not been working.
I'm baldy tearing my hair out trying to get it to work. You saved my sanity.
As a thank you I'll put a shilling in a charity box tomorrow and you can have the good karma.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0
