Sorry, shorthand. PNL = Personal Assets Trust, which is an IT with a good reputation for capital preservation with good growth. They have sailed through a few crashes as if nothing happened, but who knows next time? There is a UT equivalent called Troy Trojan. I invest in both, and Ruffer (ITs and UTs) and RIT (just IT?)

DYOR = Do Your Own Research, or in other words, don't trust us, trust yourself.
IT = Investment Trust. These are companies that own shares in other companies and/or other investments. They are the old traditional way of investing and they have their critics, but some ITs are little crackers. They are long term investments.
RIT = RIT Capital Partners, and they are an IT.

Yes, this is all quite complicated. It's a bit like cars: either you learn to do a few simple things yourself, or you pay someone else (often a teenage spanner monkey!) to do it for you and just accept that you've spent some money to save yourself some time.
