Loan App, Experian holding incorrect data

I have been looking to apply for a loan for a bike to commute to work as i moving home very soon. I Wondered why i had a decline from my bank and a few loan providers.

When checking with experian they have me on there notes that i have a alias, which is in fact my partner. This is listed as a alias and not as spouse or partner or even a financial association. My partner does have poor credit and the report online shows these as mine.

I have contacted Experian and they blame a auto complete on my computer which is utter bo**ocks. They said they may be able to amend the information and that if it is possable it may take a few weeks.

Does anyone know where i stand with this as i need the loan. As far as i can see they have misinformation about me and giving companies incorrect references :mad::mad:

Are you financially linked with your partner in any way?
  • Nope, not one bit. Even the guy on the phone agreed that my partners name shouldn't be on the report at all, let alone saying i am also known as her!!!

How did they get the name and address then?
Are you sure you have had nothing in joint names at all?

yes. As stated they mentioned my partners laptops auto complete was to blame they said. which i don't believe. We have never applied for anything jointly. House bills are in her name and im not on any of those records. We are not financially linked.

The fella i spoke to from experian said that then name should not be on there and also said looking at the rest of the report and said if shes taken off my credit would be good

Don't expect miracles though - just because her name will be removed; all the declined applications for loans will suddenly change to acceptances - lenders are much stricter these days.
