Hi all last week we moved house and NTL collections were supposed to collect our tv box on wednesday and at 3pm we got a fone call to say they dont collect in our area unless its a Friday or a Tuesday.
We said we will be in and out of the address on Friday and they said thatthey would come then.
Friday came and went so we took the box with us and rang NTl and they appologised that they didnt come out and they promised they would collect from our new address on Tuesday.
Youve guessed it Tuesday was a no show !!!
I rang them up when i got home from work and they confirmed that we would defiatly be collected from today Friday before 1pm.
1pm has now gone so i have just rang them up and they said that there is no record of me ringing on tuesday and therefore no appointment booked for today.
Can i charge them for the 2 days i have taken off work as they cant get there act toghether.
What do you all think?
By the way they just rang me up and said that they will collect from me on Tuesday:mad:

Not sure, but are you due a final bill from them? I would ring and complain, and push really hard for a discount due to loss of earnings and inconvenience. This is just typical of NTL unfortunately, we have had nothing but problems with them. We only stay with them because it works out cheaper for us. Good luck, hope you get it sorted soon."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Just don't give up if they say no, keep asking to speak to someone higher up, and refuse to get off the phone until they agree some money off - my hubby did this a few weeks ago and they gave in eventually!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hubby used to work as second line (or first line?) support on the phones for the internet - the staff labelled it NTHell. We also had problems with them and I stayed with them for a while after hubby left. We had problems with the tv freezing (their boxes fault) channels being moved ad hoc, lack of service when phoning but it came to an end when I had taped a final episode of "Stargate" - frozen at the beginning and then they took off Animal Planet. So I went beserk, stomped upstairs and arranged Sky. One astonished hubby later (I usually get him to sort this out) they arranged to colect their box. and arranged and arranged!!!
I ended up taking the box to the NTL call centre, dumping it on the receptionits desk and wrote a stinking letter to the MD.
It may be worth trying to get some money back - we didn't but certainly didn't have to pay their demanding "we are trying to collect the box" letter!!!If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!

I think you should write to NTL and say that you have made yourself available on 2 separate, pre-arranged, occasions for their staff to collect their box from you. Tell them that the box will be available for collection on such and such date (a date to suit you) between the hours of x and x. If they fail to collect it on that date, bearing in mind that you have been available on two occasions specified by them, you will assume that they no longer require the box, and that you will dispose of it in whatever way you feel fit, sending all related charges to them.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
