Morage debt passed

Hi,
Are mortgage debt's passed down through the family e.g. Father to Son upon death.
I have no signatures on any of his personal accounts, contracts etc but I have a signature on a joint business account.

I would have thought not.
The house that the mortgage is against iis an esset of the estate so the house would form part of the estate, and on selling would hopefully cover any debts including any outstanding mortgage.
A child is not liable for any debts left from a parent if it is solely in the parents name.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Last question can interest only mortgages be switched to fixed rate mortgages, if so how do you go about it?0

I used to have a fixed rate which i put on interest only a few years ago. Can't see why it can't work the other way round.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0
