Hi all,

i'm new to the site so i hope i have posted this to the right place,

can anyone give me advice with GAP Insurance?

about 14 months ago my partner brought a car on finance, at the time it was all new to her and she signed up for GAP and PPi.

I know that this was a big mistake but we are trying to right the wrongs and we got in contact with the finance company and have tried to cancel GAP insurance.

to which the company said no we cant...

can any one tell me our rights... surely any insurance can be cancelled some having to pay a cancellation fee.

Hi Niko,

Unfortunately your cancellation rights are only from 30 days of purchase for your GAP insurance. This is the law.

Point of reference for everyone is that this will change later this year/early next year where a consumer will be allowed a pro-rata refund upon cancellation throughout the term of the policy.
