I want to shrink a t-shirt

At Work, we have all been given T-Shirts with our team name to wear during busy periods to identify ourselves. Unfortunately, they have only ordered Large sizes and I am a Small size. I was wondering if there was anything I can do to shrink the T-Shirt.
I have heard that washing it in very hot water and then using a dryer to dry it does the trick. I havent got a dryer and was wondering what else I could try? Otherwise I'll take it to the local laundry shop.

I've washed t-shirts in hot water and then used a dryer - and found that some shrink upwards and stay the same width. So not always an expected result.

We were all given sweatshirts at work with the logo.Mine was massive as the people doing the giving out had a vindictive streak but about 2 months down the line, everyone elses were too small and mine fitted:)
All I did was wash it in hot water .0 -
All my clothes shrink minute they go near the tumble drier :rotfl:0

I find that cotton T-shirts shrink in the wash, particularly a very hot wash. It's worth a try, taking into account colour fastness or course.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Post the t shirt to me, my OH says I am a whizz at shrinking clothing in the wash. Be warned though I have no control over how small it will go, I hope you won't mind a skinny fit!:DI had a plan..........its here somewhere.0

Just do whatever you would have done if you didn't want it to shrink. You'll then find that as if by magic it'll shrink!Stompa0 -
