old debt advice
Hi there
Ive been receiving countless letters from Lowell financial regarding an unpaid debt prev with the Natwest for £2300. After reading through some posts ive previously managed to successfully get some other debts statute barred which I tried to do with this one. They got back in touch saying that as I made a payment in sept 06 that this was not the case and that they are going to obtain a copy of my credit file and decide what action to take!
Im really not in a position to repay the debt and could really use some advice as to what I should do next
thanks

Hi
Do you think you did make a payment in September 2006? Have they provided details of the date and amount and does it tie in to your records?
If you did then then the debt is not statute barred and I would suggest you writing to them to make a monthly repayment offer you can afford (even if thats a very small monthly offer this would be better than ignoring the debt). If you cannot really afford anything (eg if you are on benefits) then its usually recommended to just make a £1 token payment each month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
