Lovefilm getting wise

had this back from CDWow this morning after I asked why I hadn't been allocated DVDs when had I subscribed 3 days ago...

Thank you for your interest in our service. According to our records a free trial account has already been used at your address with one of the services powered by the LOVEFiLM group of companies.

A free trial is available to new DVD rental subscribers only. Existing subscribers, or those who have previously enjoyed a free trial period with any member of the LOVEFiLM group of companies (including ScreenSelect), or any website powered by LOVEFiLM or Video Island are not eligible and will be billed normally for use of the service. According to our terms and conditions only one free trial is allowed per household so we cannot authorise a second free trial at this time.

We can allow a second account if it is paid for immediately. Please let us know how you wish to proceed, if we do not hear from you within 3 days we will not proceed with your second application.

oh well...
at least I got 4 months free via Tesco (Lovefilm powered) and Lovefilm :D

    I just finished a free 3 month trial from Lovefilm. Ive not cancelled it as I was given a tesco voucher for free 2 month rental. However, this is also powered by Lovefilm. Lets see what happens, no harm in trying.

    Shopping Tips
    Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.
  • Just change ur address slightly (ie mis-spell a word) and u should be able to get the free trial. Worked for me :rotfl:

    never thought of that, I could have written my address in Welsh, me being in Wales, and hope the posty can read it :D

    I had the same message when i tried to open a new account with them through screen select
  • Probably mentioned elsewhere but when ScreenSelect disappeared and I was redirected to LoveFilm's website the sign-in page showed a list of all accounts I'd had in the past with LoveFilm and asked me to select one. There was one with LoveFilm themselves, one with ScreenSelect and 3 others from when I was tarting around in previous years with other suppliers like Sainsbury. I managed to sign in to a couple of them and they showed my rental history and queue as it was the day I left as if I'd never been away. I think they're smart people in the way they trade but just a pity that they don't treasure their customers.
