Well yes, good news. But you appear to have forgotten to mention that the new claimant count for April rose 12,400.
The unemployment figures are over 3 months. The April figures for new claimants is rising. So not sure where that will leave th enext 3 monthly figures.
Either way, unemployment is currently running at 7.7% and youth unemployment now running at 20%. Sad state of affairs.0 -

Very sad.
But AFAIK it's significantly better than it was in the last major recession of the early 90's.
So the policy response this time is working far better than it did last time.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

If unemployment rises this is a bad thing right, but if it falls is that a bad thing too?0

I wonder how many are part time0

There is actually a rather good summary on historical employment trends here:

Part 2
Part 3.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

I agree, good news, on the face of it.
I heard a report on the radio earlier stating that part of the reason for the fall in unemployed is because some people have been moved onto JSA, which removes them from the figures.
Now, I might have got that a bit wrong, but I'm sure that's what they were saying.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

The point there is that the claimant count has increased because people are being moved onto JSA. It's the broader measure that's falling.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
