Very - opening a credit account for £30 off code?

I've seen a child's bed on 'Very' that I'd like to buy and I've seen a code which takes £30 off the price. The code is subject to opening a new credit account. This makes the bed a very good deal compared to others I have seen.

Is it worth opening a credit account to do this and is it easy to cancel afterwards? I'd rather pay up front as we usually do but is it worth doing this for the £30 off?

I suspect our credit rating is fine as no debts etc or money issues.

Thanks.

  • I did this just before Christmas. I paid the total amount when the first invoice came in without any bother.

Thanks sophie, I may go for it then.
  • I done something similar when i joined Very so that i could take advantage of the £30 off offer - Depending on your credit rating they will offer up to £1,000 credit i believe. You can pay off the full amount either prior to your first statement by debit/credit card or just wait for you statement and pay it then.

Thanks Morrisons, did you cancel afterwards or just leave the account open?

I left the account open as they have some good offers on there from time to time - Also they e-mail money off codes quite often too - I got one today for £10 off with no minimum spend.

The site is safe to use too as they are part of the Littlewoods group.

I would say so - Also they are great to use from time to time and if you order before 6pm you get guaranteed next day delivery etc,

  • I know I have reopened an old thread but I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on this, I've just done the same thing, opened a credit account so I can save £30 of a £60 order but I've never gone into a credit agreement before so I'm wondering how it works.

I just want to pay the balance then never use it again but I've got a feeling that I will be tied into it as I got the £30 free but cant find anything in the terms and conditions about closing the account.

Just pay the balance and then dont order anything from them again unless they phone you in 6 months with another great code!!

I usually wait until I get an email or a call from them offering me a big discount and then I place another order.
