Today my 77year old Nan received a call from these people claiming that she had overpaid her council tax by £1400, they could deal with her claim for a fee of £165 plus 25% of what she could claim back.
They offered to handle everything for her and said if she had a computer she could check out their website, she said she did have a computer and the caller sounded quite surprised at that.
Thankfully my Nan doesn't suffer fools gladly and sent them away with a flea in their ear.
Having checked the website they offer to approach the council about your rebanding your house (something you can do yourself for far less than £165) and reclaiming overpayments.
They also use a quote of Martin Lewis in a guardian article on their website.
Just thought I'd let others know so they can let their elderly relatives know £165 is a lot of money to pay out for most people and I'd hate anyone to feel tricked by this company, unfortunately not everyone is as moneysaving minded as the users of this site.
