Cooking with bacon, potato & lentils?

Okay, so i messed up today. DH gets paid tomorrow, so i can't buy anything. We were meant to be having frozen fish for tea, but i forgot and had it with DD for lunch instead. Now i have to think of something else to have for tea and i am stumped!!

I've got

6 rashers of thick bacon
1/2 tin lentils
a decent amount of potatoes
frozen peas & frozen sweetcorn
boil in the bag basmati rice

ooh just thought, maybe i could have a curry... I've got balti paste and an onion... bacon & potato curry? Hmmm... I'm no good at cooking.

I'm going to have a nose around the recipies, but i've two kiddos running around so don't have much time. Throwing myself at the mercy of those more familiar with the recipe threads and food in general!!

potato cakes/croquettes served with the frozen veg?
Or you could do potato, lentil and frozen veg curry and save the bacon until tomorrow?
bacon and lentil hotpot with the potatoes in?
bacon and potato omelette/fritatta type thing if you have eggs?

I'm sure the others will have better suggestions that me though.

    no cheese?
My mum used to make use *cheese and bacon pie* which is boiled potatoes, smashed up, but not mashed properly, with cooked bacon broken into bits and squares of cheese mixed into the potatos, then baked in the oven so it melts and become melted and yummy :D

But if u dont have cheese, a curry sounds yummy, I would just do it with the peas, lentils a potato cubed and sweetcorn with onion and serve with rice. Save the bacon for a sarnie in the morning!

Lentil and bacon soup - yumyum :o)

You can chuck any veg in there to bulk it out along with veg stock and even a tin of toms if you've got them. Its one of my DH's fav meals

Could you make a thick bacon and lentil soup (put some rice or potatoes in to thicken it if you like) ?
Or fry up some bacon and onions, mix with cooked rice, peas and sweetcorn, and add any seasoning you like (ideally something like chilli or paprika) a voila jambolaya ?
Personally I think soup would be a nice option.

Thanks so much! Brilliant for inspiration you lot are! :D I'm going to see what else we have in the cupboard, but i might just save the bacon and do a curry... or the cheesy pie thingy... or that jambolaya... Man! Too much choice now! Ha ha ha!

Also if you have flour and oil, you could make chapattis to go with your curry? If you have an egg, you could make sweetcorn or veg fritters to also serve with the curry!
