Duvet storage vacuum bags

In an attempt to make my flat look a bit less cluttered, I want to store my spare duvet (double + 2 pillows) under my bed. So I've been looking at those vaccum storage bags.. does anyone know whether they're any good, and if so can you recommend a brand?

i have these for the kids old clothes in the attic because it keeps them clean, if you were storing it under your bed maybe you'd be better with one of the box type ones as it will look neater, mine are just normal ones and i got them from poundland

    Hi Nikki!

Good question. We suffer from a lack of storage space at our flat and find it really useful when we are able to store things away with makeshift ideas. We tried some vacuum bags over the past few years with mostly poor success - they last about 6-12 months (after costing a whack, even the good ones so we adopted a new storage system in 2 ways:

    1. Using a jumbo tote Space Bag from Lakeland (the price is pretty average & with lakeland you get a lifetime guarantee): http://www.lakeland.co.uk/21830/Jumbo-Space-Bag-Totes
They work well because their vacuum bag is more re-enforced than others and it is enclosed in a storage bag with the addition of baggage type ties to hold the stuff together. It fits under our bed & in our wardrobes just fine.

    2. For feather/down duvets we roll them tightly like you would a sleeping bag and then we tie them with either large elastic bands (fabric elastic) or with string. In the case of single and some double duvets this seems to work!
:A Thanks to all the lovely people who contribute their advice! :A

    Hi nikki,

    Welcome to MSE :)

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've moved it over to the I wanna board to see if you can get some more recommendations.
