nice to see someone doing well ...

I brought a house close to all local amenities, in a nice area, very close to work...

One tank of fuel a month... as for increasing food costs, stay away from the brands for now, and become less brand conscious.

My car insurance renewal was about 25% more than last year, so i rang them up, and negotiated it down, and now I have more, for a little more, but at least I got something i needed out of it (full RAC breakdown etc)

People are posting on facebook how expensive insurance is... etc, etc, well do something about it. lol
    Plan
    1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)
    2) Make healthy savings, spend wisely (Doing)
    3) Ensure healthy pension fund - (Doing)
    4) Ensure house is nice, suitable, safe, and located - (Done)
    5) Keep everyone happy, healthy and entertained (Done, Doing, Going to do)

If you look at the RPI figures you will see that they have actually dropped. I'd suggest that RPI is a more accurate inflation index for the likes of myself. Things are getting cheaper for me, not more expensive.

If you are aligning your personal spending to RPI, then indeed things are getting more expensive for you. It's just that this month, the rate at which the prices are increasing has dropped back very slightlly.

    Still rising though.

I simply do not believe you can believe you sidestep all general inflation. What, for instance happens when you buy your next annual ticket? Inflation hits you. Therefore all you are really saying is inflation today isn't affecting you today, while forgetting about tommorow.

You may get to work on a train with a ticket that hasn't increased in price YET...but how do you get to the DIY stores?
  • I felt left out because everyone else has their own thread about inflation.

lol, you forgot to add 'it's not fair, it's not fair' and a preemptive insult to anybody who disagrees.

I'm concerned about the rate of inflation of the rate of inflation threads. Maybe we should have a thread on this?

It's not worrying about tommorow. It's stating fact that you will be hit by inflation regardless of whether you have been hit today. Therefore, you are not sheltered from it as implied.
