dunno if im posting in the right place or not, but need some advice...
Got an Amstrad Emailer plus phone cheaply recently, but then read some bad reviews online about it saying there alot of charges to use the features on the phone.
What I can't understand from the reveiws is if I can switch the features off so I don't get charged, or do i have to have the features and pay the charges?
So I dunno whether I might aswell try and sell it on Ebay, or ifs it's ok for me to use and not be charged
just wondered if anyone else had brought one, and could shed some light on how the charges work?
Many thanks in advance

I had one a few moons ago and managed to get round the fees. It calls out to check your emails once or twice a day. This is about 16p per call and adds up over the months.
I cant recall how I did it exactly but it was something simple like setting a dialing out code in the settings and when the dial out code fails it gives up until the next - it does this for a while then refuses to work until you let it get emails at least once. (just change code back for a bit and then reverse the process). I will look for you on the net as it was what I did last time.
Sounds time consumiing but its a matter of minutes to use quite a good phone.Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.0 -
A quick search shows there are a few models of the emailer - it depends which one you have. This post may have been better on the telephones forums but I dont know how you move it. I think its up to a moderator to do it. Im sure someone will have the answer.Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.0
