Whats the alternative for Grahams Crackers?

Evening All, Hope everyone is enjoying this wintery night :D

I am on the fab https://www.organisedchristmas.com & am slowly making the family lots of lovely little xmas stocking fillers. I've come across a recipe that my auntie will love but it says to use Grahams Crackers. From what I can tell they must be a sweet biscuit but I cant think of an alternative to use that I can pick up from the local supermarket. I've never heard of them before....can anyone make a suggestion?

Just googled and it would appear they are a cookie flavoured with cinammon, honey and molasses. Hope that helps.
  • Digestive biscuits and rich tea biscuits can be used pretty well as a subsitute, but on their own nothing comes close to a graham cracker!! Yumm!!

They aren't the same as digestives, that's just what is usually suggested as an alternative. There's a thread somewhere started by Holsale (who's American) and she says they're more like rich tea - like Thistle Down says.
  • Thanks all of you....your so much help, think I'll def go with the rich tea, mainly cause once I

oopppppsssss dodnt know how that happened!!! LOL
  • Thanks all of you....your so much help, think I'll def go with the rich tea, mainly cause once I've finished making the gift & eat the rest with my morning coffee!! hehehe

Have a fab evening everyone xx
  • It is a matter of taste I guess, when I was over there they seemed to me to be more "Digestivy" than "Rich Teay" but I guess it is all opinion really.

I do agree that neither is absolutely right - But I think that Digestives are perhaps nearer.

    Just my opinion BTW.

it's a hard one - I think graham crackers taste more like digestives too but the consistancy is drier, more like the rich tea biscuits. Maybe a combo of both would be the answer??
