Wanting some of my charges back

I currently have a DMP but am wondering if I am able to take any actions against my creditors to recover so called illegal charges as seems to be the norm at the mo.
I am worried that should I attempt to recover any charges, my creditors will get funny and demand immediate repayment for my debts, thus totally writing off my DMP and leaving me in an impossible situation.
Can anyone help or advise???

I am pretty sure that you should be OK. They can't demand money you just don;t have can they?0 -

Hi. Myself and my OH are at the beginning of a DMP with the CCCS. I was encouraged by our counseller to try to reclaim our charges.
Go for it! Hopefully you will get something back and be able to pay a chunk off a nasty debt!0 -
Think about it this way. If you are in a DMP then the creditor will have filed a default anyway, so your credit record is not the best. They can demand the payments you can't pay then all they can do is get you to court, get a CCJ, and...... They are now ordered to accept what you can afford. Also no judge is going to be remotely impressed that they accepted an offer of repayment which you stuck to only to change everything and demanding immediate repayment which you clearly could not do. Wasting a courts time is an offence, what are they going to say - he took us to court so we'll take him too!
Go for it, don't let them scare you and they do try and frighten you into dropping the case, its bully boy tactics.
I got back £2K from HSBC, the only reason the banks put up any fight at all is to try and seperate those that will go the distance from those that will bottle it. No one goes to court for a good reason, they have no case.
I had regular run ins with my bank, I had disputed a lot of things they had done and I got initial offer of 90%. My friend is a lot more shy and was offered nothing. I made her file a claim and we both got 100% back, we went nowhere near a court.
Good luck!Total Debt at start of challenge : ££26563.92
