Yip, that sounds like my son. The day we told him veg makes you fart was the day he started eating his veg first of all and asking for seconds. He loves sprouts and cabbage as we said they were the worst! Boys!

LOL!! This would make my son laugh his head off too - he loves fart jokes. We call cabbage 'trumpy veg' which is the only way to get him to eat it (we say 'Oh no, don't eat the trumpy veg, you'll be trumping all day', and whoosh, it's gone off his plate and into his mouth in seconds). Don't you love a bit of revolting, juvenile reverse psychology!

    Oh god, I'm such a bad mother.......

The people in my office must think I've gone mad! I've got tears rolling down my face at this thread! I'm not a mother yet but will remember this in future if my kids don't want to eat their veggies!

Not as funny, but all our veg have been renamed over the years to encourage my son to eat them - we have green trees (broccolli), white trees (cauliflower), snowmen's noses (carrots), elves footballs (peas), swords (asparagus), the aforementioned trumpy veg (cabbage), squashed peas (mange touts), slimeballs (mushrooms), eyes (cucumber - looks like eyes when it's sliced), I could go on.......

This might sound crazy, but he's now 6 years old, (and does now call each vegetable by its proper name), and will eat a wide variety of vegetables with no fuss whatsoever.
