getting an unsecured loan
hi guys
I want to get a loan from between 4-5k, my credit score is "fair" its about 390, it was "good" last year and over 400 but 2 late payments this year, one to my next catalogue and one of my credit cards seems to have affected this as it shows on my credit rating now, i have no ccj's or anything like that.
i have quite a few credit cards but have been told that credit card loans are not a good idea, i'm 57 and work full time.
i dont own my own home so it will have to be an unsecured loan but if i try different companys my step son said that the more credit searches that are done against me the more it will affect my credit rating, is this true?? if so i want to make sure that the first one i apply for i get hopefully.
who are the best lenders out there for unsecured loans and what ones do you think given my circumstances am i more likely to be accepted for?
Is there a list of lenders of unsecured loans if you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly apprieciated.
my annual income is £32k btw.
thanks guys.

Your stepson is correct. Too many searhes can have a negative effect.
What is your debt/income percentage?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
The credit cards you have - what are the limits on these? - any available credit you have on cards, overdrafts etc count towards your total current credit whether used or not. If this is high compared to your income it can reduce your chances of getting a loan (when lender assess whether you can service all your current credit if maxed and the new loan).
Usually your own bank is a good place to approach first (though it does depend on whether you have run any accounts/cards etc you hold with them well).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
