Graduate Loans

Just about to graduate from uni... Confident of getting work etc but would ideally like to pass my test & buy a car before going for a full time job.

I chose not to get a big student loan like most students do to stay out of debt, but now can't afford a car etc!

Are there any banks that offer graduate loans to those not employed yet? Lloyds TSB have one on their website but it doesn't state if you need to employed to get one?

Thanks

I think you'll struggle to get one for a car, tbh - a lot of banks offer "professional development loans" or similar that can be used for further courses, training etc - my gf took one of these when she did her PGCE and used it for a car, but without a course, I don't think she'd have got the loan. A bit late now, but squirreling your student loan away in an ISA would have been a good way of doing this...

Confident of finding work? Have you seen the market?

I've got a job starting in 3 weeks after final exams and its taken 8months from first applying for jobs. Its not easy....

Where do you live? Because I wouldn't get a car if there was suitable alternatives
