QuickQuid - Yet Another Unsatisfied Customer
Hi all, first time poster...
I thought I'd share my story regarding QuickQuid. I got into a bit of a situation (ex cleared out my bank account as she left, bless her) and had to get a payday loan to see me through the month. No problems, and I could repay it easily - or so I thought.
Took a £100 loan, costing me £29.50. Come payday, I - like an absolute idiot - forgot to include the loan in my monthly budgeting. Three days before its due, I realise this, and speak to QuickQuid to ask for an extension. "No problem sir, you'll owe £29.50 on the 13th, and £129.50 on the 15th next month."
All good.
I had £60 in my account on the 12th. The same £60 is in my account this morning.
I get an email today, saying I owe another £12.00 to QuickQuid as the bank have returned the direct debit request for £100. Went on to QuickQuid's online live support thing, and "Aqua" is helping me. I explain the situation, and she makes me wait for ten minutes, before handing me to "Meghan."
The conversation goes like this...
Me: "Hi, I owed you £29.50 for an extended loan on Friday, and you tell me that you've charged me £12.00 because the payment of £100 has been refused. Why did you try to charge me £100, please?"
Them: "Your payment of £29.50 was refused. Can you pay the £41.50 outstanding on your account now via debit card?"
Me: "Yes, I can, but that's not the point. You've tried to charge me £100!"
Them: "The payment was for £29.50 and it has been refused, so a default charge was added. Are you able to pay the £41.50 you owe from the debit card ending 9060 that we have on file?"
Me: "You aren't listening to me. You've tried to take £100 instead of £29.50, hence the rejected payment. WHY?"
Them: "Shall I process your payment of £41.50 now?"
Absolutely ridiculous. Wouldn't mind, but they emailed me at 12:17, and FIVE different people called my office for me before I spoke to them at 12:45. I've ended up paying, just to shut them up - which is a stupid course to take, I know...
