Lol, more regular than me anyway! Was just wondering what its like at peak periods, how subscribed the classes are, and what they charge for personal trainers?

Only got a partial answer I'm afraid.

At peak times it is quite busy. That said, there tends to always be enough treadmills, bikes and steppers available (they have a large number of each). The stength equipment is less popular and as people tend to work on different machines in a personal circuit, you normally wouldn't have long to wait for one to become free.

Classes are popular, and generally you will have to book well in advance. You do that online (you get a login for their website, which details all the classes for a few weeks in advance) and it's a first come, first served basis. Most classes have several at different times of the day (7am - 8pm generally) so you should normally be able to get into one that will suit.

    Classes offered are:

    Spin
    Tread (running)
    Circuits
    Body core vibration
    Legs, bums & tums
    Stretch & tone
    Kettle bells
    Weights
    Zumba (infrequent classes)
    Extreme combat
    Rowing

Personal trainers appear to be £25-40 per hour, depending on whether or not it is a group booking. I haven't used them, so can't really say whether there is any value in it.

Generally the facilities are very good with clean shower areas and plenty of staff about if you need help. You will need a padlock on the first visit, and would be advised to buy a good combination lock (so you don't have to carry a key into the shower!).

Not very happy with this question from you, as I now feel guilty about not going enough :p

Much appreciated! Are the showers individual or communal?

Communal shower / locker room (obviously!), but the showers themselves are separate cubicles with doors, so you won't have anyone dropping the soap at your feet :D

I was getting my soap on a rope ready too! I read on a different forum that there is a machine that you can attach a golf club to, I assume to improve/strenghten your swing, have you ever seen that one in use? Would probably be the clincher for me! :D

Afraid not, but I haven't been around the whole set of equipment yet, so it wouldn't surprise me. May give it a go next time I'm in (although the lockers aren't big enough to take a golf club.... may look a bit strange taking it into the shower with you )

Just wondering, where's the closest place you can park for free? It'll more than double the cost if I'm paying 2 quid a go for parking?

Depends what time you are going.

If in the evenings, then the car park across the street at Corporation Street social security office is free after 6pm, as is the car park beside Mynt (it is still called that??). Some on street parking available around the side of St Annes too if you can get one free.
