Hi, i am currently trying to obtain my bank charges back from A&L, and I applied for a parachute account with the Halifax.
Somewhile ago,due to the ammount of harrasing phone calls I was getting from my creditors, I had our home number changed. I have only passed it on to friends, and family, and it is ex directory.. However I did give it to the Halifax when applying for the account, today I recieved a call from Blair Oliver Scott, i challenged them on where they had obtained the number from, but they said it was what they held on record.............. I may be stupid with finances, but the only way they could have got my new number from is the Halifax, are they linked to RBS in anyway? And are the Halifax allowed to pass my number on? It was so terrible before it got to the stage where the only option was to unplug the phone, I ended up in tears, and on anti depressents with the abuse and harrassment I endured........... And i dont want that to happen again

Yeah you have to be careful these days, alot of the banks are linked to other banks etc. check following link,

basically RBS have your details now, and it is legal.0 -
Thanks for that, are they allowed to pass it on to other creditors, who are not financlily linked?
BOS where quite helpful, no problems but it was the others i am worried about0 -
halifax are the bank of scotland.
technicaly they probably are the same data controller, so yes, they can share that info freely among themselves.
what you need to find out is does the DPA apply, are they seperate data controllers. ICO.gov.uk should be able to tell you via their helpline:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Sorry I was supposed to say B.O.S obtained your number through Halifax.
I dont think Halifax can submit you info to other organsiations that it is not linked to unless they had it in the T&C's, normally you have to tick a sqaure box for them to pass your info on to any companies.0 -
I Would Just Change It Again If I Were You Dont Put Up With Constant Calls If You Cant Cope With Them0
